Rules of the table
Everything the dealer does is decided by the rules on this page. Nothing is hidden, and nothing changes from hand to hand.
Hand values
- 2 to 10
- Count their printed value.
- Jack, Queen, King
- Count 10 each.
- Ace
- Counts 11, unless that would push the hand over 21 — then it counts 1. A hand where an Ace is counting 11 is called “soft”.
- Bust
- Any hand above 21 loses immediately.
The dealer’s fixed rule
- Draws on 16 or less
- The house keeps taking cards while its total is under 17.
- Stands on all 17s
- Including soft 17 (for example Ace + 6). The dealer never makes a choice.
- Hole card
- The dealer’s second card stays face down until you stand, bust, or either side opens with blackjack.
Payouts in free coins
- Blackjack (Ace + a 10-value card)
- Pays 3:2 — a 100-coin stake returns 250.
- Regular win
- Pays 1:1 — a 100-coin stake returns 200.
- Push (tie)
- Your stake comes back untouched. Two blackjacks also push.
- Loss or bust
- The stake stays with the house.
Your options
- Hit
- Take one more card. Reaching 21 stands automatically.
- Stand
- Keep your total and pass the stage to the dealer.
- Double
- On your first two cards only: add a second equal stake, receive exactly one card, then stand.
- The deck
- One standard 52-card deck, shuffled fresh when fewer than 15 cards remain.
Free, always — and never money
Every visitor starts with 1,000 virtual coins. They exist only in this browser tab: close or reload the page and the balance begins again at 1,000. If a run of hands leaves you short of the 10-coin minimum, betting pauses and the Reset balance control restores your coins at no cost.
Coins cannot be bought, sold, transferred, exchanged or redeemed for money, prizes or anything else of value. Curtain Call Twenty-One is social gaming for adults aged 18 and over, for entertainment purposes only. If play stops feeling like entertainment, our responsible play page has some practical ways to step back.
